About

Kathleen "Kathy" Lavely has 35 years’ experience serving healthcare organizations. She is a certified professional medical services management and provider credentialing specialist and is the founder of SunCoast Medical Staff Services for the last 14 years.

​

While working with 35 healthcare organizations, including hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers, she provides credentialing, competency, and compliance services throughout the United States. She has participated directly with organizing physician leaders and administrators for 32 accreditation surveys.

​

Moreover, Kathy enjoys the medical staff privileging process and linking competency and privileging for quality medical care. She served on several subject expert panels with National Association Medical Staff Services Curriculum Development and Training Workshop, Florida Association Medical Staff Services Standardized Uniform Practitioner Credentialing Application, Credentialing Rapid Design Team, and a Credentialing Task Force.

Kathy served seven years on the board of the Florida Association Medical Staff Services.  For the local chapter board, Tampa Bay Chapter Medical Staff Services, she served 18 years.

In addition to serving on medical staff services boards and subject expert panels, Kathy is currently attending the University of South Florida as a senior for a Bachelor of Arts degree in communications, and received an Associate of Arts degree at Hillsborough Community College. Currently, Kathy resides in Tampa, Florida, with her husband and rescue dog named Jackson. She enjoys gardening, walking, and biking.
